Guardian:  A court appointed person who is legally and morally responsible to act on behalf of another person, usually an infant, an incompetent or incapacitated person.   A guardian can be responsible for the personal care and needs of a person, as well as responsible for managing the financial assets of a person.  See MHL 8:36
