THE FREEDOM OF PREVENTIVE LEGAL COUNSELING
My practice focuses on providing clients with high quality professional service in a cost effective manner. My unique approach is based on the concept of preventive legal counseling. By learning a client's industry and business practices, I am able to empower them with an understanding of the legal ramifications of their business operations while avoiding traditional legal fees. Throughout the course of the attorney-client relationship, the business owner develops a keener approach to business concerns, which ultimately saves money. The resulting success benefits both the client and the community overall. It is key to avoid expensive legal costs by addressing concerns before they develop into litigation or disputes. If your family budget or business overhead does not include the cost of a retained attorney or in-house counsel, consider the freedom of Preventive Legal Counseling. Preventive Legal Counseling is a cost effective means of educating clients about the legal consequences of their business decisions and consumer transactions. It helps businesses and individuals avoid common mistakes that result in costly legal disputes and government penalties. This unique form of paid legal assistance leads to stronger business networks and more resourceful families. Explore your options with a Free initial consultation. |

From the Desk of Tatia D. Barnes A Legal Tidbit ... A District Court May Not Credit Prior Custody Time at Sentencing Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 3585(b), a district court may not apply credit for prior time in custody at sentencing. See also, United States v. Wilson, 503 U.S. 329 (1992). Crediting prior custody time to sentencing remains the exclusive authority of the Attorney General through the Bureau of Prisons. |
Tatia D. Barnes, Esq. New York, New York A former prosecutor committed to providing the highest degree of professional legal services to individuals, small businesses and non-profit organizations at affordable rates. |
